Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Dirk Hartmann

Prof. Dr. Dirk Hartmann is an applied mathematician, technology leader, and intrapreneur specializing in Simulation and Digital Twins. He holds the position of Distinguished Key Expert at Siemens Digital Industries Software, where he heads the Simcenter Technology Innovation Team, driving next-generation simulation products with a focus on solver algorithms, AI/ML, and quantum computing. In parallel, Dirk serves as Professor and Chair for Digital Twins at the Technical University of Darmstadt.

Over the course of his career at Siemens, Dirk has held multiple leadership roles spanning research, innovation, and management in academia and industrry. His work has been recognized with the Werner-von-Siemens Top Innovator Award (2019) and the Siemens Inventor of the Year Award (2021).

Dirk holds a doctorate in Applied Mathematics from Heidelberg University, a Master of Advanced Study in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from the University of Cambridge, and degrees in Mathematics and Physics from Heidelberg University.
